Ko(inu)

This is Koinu. We call her Ko because she has a short attention span. This little dog is half Akita and half something else. While she is much smaller than Spock or Kazoo, she makes up for the difference in height and weight with her feisty attitude. She will happily take on the other two dogs at once. At 1 1/2 years, she weighs 42 pounds and has been neutered. She demands a great deal of attention and no one else in the house can be petted or hugged (including humans) unless she is also getting attention! She's the only dog that the cats tolerate up close.

We adopted Ko from our local rescue agency, the Center for Animal Care and Control in Staten Island. For those of you with Staten Island Cable, please check out the interactive channel (57) to see what animals the center has up for adoption. They really need good homes for some adorable pets.
