Filbert Balls

1 cup butter or margarine -- softened

1/2 cup sifted powdered sugar

2 Tablespoons water

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 cup hazelnuts

sifted powdered sugar

In a mixing bowl, cream butter or margarine and 1/2 cup powdered sugar til

light and fluffy; blend in water and vanilla. Stir in flour and chopped

filberts. Cover dough and chill about 30 minutes.

Shape into 1-inch balls; place on ungrease dcookie sheet. Bake at 350

degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cool slightly; sift powdered sugar over

cookies. Makes about 4 doz.
