William Bowie, (1721-91), was a member of the Committee of Correspondence and was one of the signers of the Association of Freemen of Maryland. He served with the patriots to organize the minute men.

Robert Bowie, (1750-1818), enlisted, 1776, in the Flying Camp, and was wounded at White Plains and Germantown. He served in the South at the close of the war. He was a leader of men and became governor.

Fielder Bowie, (1745-94), was commissioned captain of the [p.84] Notingham company, 1776. He was appointed, 1777, Judge of the County Court of Prince George.

James John Mackall represented Calvert county in all the conventions of the Revolutionary period. He was born 1717.

John Philip Roche, (1753-1836), enlisted from Calvert county for the defense of Maryland, when the British landed at Elkton. he was at Cowpens, and letters are in the possession of the family written after the battle.

Richard Potts, (1753-1808), served as aide to Governor Thomas Johnson, 1777. In 1781 he was delegate to the Continental Congress.

Casper Yost, (1748-81), served in the Northumberland county, Pennsylvania, Associators. He was born in Hanover, Pa.; died in Penn's Township. John Yost, (1726-84), served in the Northumberland County Rangers.

Peter Wilson, (1752-1803), served in the Northumberland county, Pennsylvania militia. Philip Edington, (1750-1815), served as a soldier at the battle of Trenton. He died in Seneca Co., N. Y. John Edington, (1729-93), served in the Bedford County Rangers. He died in Bedford, Pa.

Alexander Rorison, (1763-1832), served on the frontier of Pennsylvania. He died in Seneca Co., N. Y. Daniel Bates, (1763-1845), was placed on the pension roll of Ohio, 1832, for service of private in the New Jersey Line. He was born in Morris Co., N. J.; died in Sandusky, Ohio.

William Galbraith, (1736-89), served with the Cumberland county militia. He died in Cumberland Co., Pa.

James Galbraith, (1704-87), who had served in the early wars, was appointed lieutenant colonel for Cumberland county but on account of age was unable to do active duty.

Daniel Kent, (1745-84), served in the militia of Calvert county, Md., and was a member of the Council of Safety.

David Vance, (1737-1819), served in the Rangers from Westmoreland county, Penna., for the defense of the frontiers. He removed after the revolution to Ohio and held civil office in Jefferson county.

Phoebe Bayard, (1743-1818), contributed her fortune to the cause and was never reimbursed.

Philip Cole, (1730-94), served in the Buffalo Valley, 1776, and his name is found among the field officers.

William Frisby Fitzhugh, (1761-1839), was an officer of Col. George Baylor's regiment known as Mrs. Washington's [p.197] Guard as they escorted herself and household from Boston to New York. He was taken prisoner at Tappan, 1778, where the regiment was surprised and the colonel wounded. He was subsequently in the dragoons under Greene in the south and served to the close of the war. He was born in Calvert Co., Md.; died in Livingston Co., N. Y.
